More unmarried couples seeing benefits of prenuptial agreements

According to Kimberly Quaid's divorce petition, the marriage cannot continue due to "discord or conflict of personalities." Their union produced a cherished set of twins, a documentary inspired by their experience with the healthcare industry, and many valuable assets that will now factor into their divorce settlement.

Interest in divorce and family law spikes in March

Otherwise a relatively undistinguished month, March is now becoming known - unofficially, of course - as national divorce month. A couple of popular legal websites report sizable increases this month in divorce-related search terms, such as "child custody" and "family law."

One of the most wrenching divorce decisions can involve custody of a formerly shared pet. Over the past decade, cats, dogs, and other beloved animals have started playing larger roles in divorce proceedings, when in the past judges paid little attention to the issue.
